Immunization Information

Immunization Requirements

New Student Information

If you are a full time undergraduate or a part time / full time graduate student who is under the age of 31 years at the time of enrollment, you must submit:

  • Proof of two MMR vaccines, with the first dose given on or after your first birthday.
    •  Alternatively, you may submit titers showing immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella . 
  • If you are taking 12 or more credits, you must provide documentation of 3 Hepatitis B vaccinations or a titer indicating immunity.
  • If you are planning to reside in College housing or are a commuter student aged 18 or less, you must also submit proof that you have received the Meningitis ACWY vaccine.  The Meningitis ACWY vaccine must be given at age 16 or later.  You will be unable to move-in to campus housing until this is received.
  • A completed and signed Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire. This form is to be completed by all incoming students.

Returning Student Information

  • If you are a returning student or a readmit student and you submitted your vaccination information in regards to Measles, Rubella and Mumps to Health Services within the past 10 years, you do not need to submit this information again.  
  • If you are a returning student who has taken a one semester or more break from your education here at Ramapo College of New Jersey, Tuberculosis (TB) testing is required for students at high risk for TB (as defined in the Immunization Packet) no more than 6 months prior to your return to Ramapo College of New Jersey.

COVID-19 Immunization Information

COVID-19 vaccine and associated boosters are recommended, not required.

Medical or Religious Exemptions

Religious: A request for exemption from the immunization requirements due to religious beliefs may be submitted to Health Services. The request must be in writing from the enrolled student if aged 18 or over and specifically state the religious doctrine that prohibits vaccination.

Medical: Exemption from requirements based on medical reasons must be submitted to Health Services in the form of a signed statement from a healthcare provider indicating a specific immunization is contraindicated due to a valid medical condition. This documentation will be reviewed annually.

All requests for Religious and Medical Exemptions are due to immunize@ramapo.edu prior to the start of the semester.
